KASFAA Mentorship Program

Building Connections for a Successful Career in Financial Aid
The KASFAA Mentorship Program is dedicated to supporting new financial aid administrators by equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to thrive in their careers. Through a one-on-one partnership with an experienced financial aid professional, mentees gain valuable guidance, encouragement, and a trusted resource as they navigate the field.

This year-long program pairs mentors and mentees for monthly conversations on a wide range of topics. Discussions include technical areas such as Pell awarding, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and verification, as well as professional skills like self-care, communication, and managing difficult customer interactions.

The value of mentorship often extends beyond the program’s official timeframe. Many participants continue their professional relationship long after the year concludes, creating lasting connections and networks within the financial aid community. Having a trusted colleague to turn to—whether for advice, best practices, or simply support—can make a world of difference.
Whether you are new to financial aid or a seasoned professional eager to give back, the KASFAA Mentorship Program offers a rewarding experience that strengthens both individuals and the profession as a whole.

It is easy to sign up to be a mentor or mentee!!  You can also sign up at the KASFAA Spring Conference.
