Across the State

Newman University

Newman University has a new staff member.Courtney Fleetwood has joined the financial aid staff as a counselor. She recently graduated from Oklahoma University in December. She replaces Melissa Meares

Johnson County Community College

Debbie Davis, Financial Aid Accounting Supervisor, is proud to announce her engagement to John Brewer. John is employed with the FAA as an air traffic controller. An October wedding is on the horizon.
Lesa Weatherred, Processing Financial Aid Assistant, has resigned. Trish Johnson has replaced her beginning April 15.
Theresa Taylor, Administrative Assistant, has resigned effective March 29.

Ottawa University

Mary Hepner has been promoted to Senior Financial Aid Coordinator.
Gary Bateman began work on April 15 as the Financial Aid Coordinator. He will work with Mary on all aspects of financial aid processing.

Emporia State University

Marion Jones’ father passed away a few weeks ago.

Kansas Wesleyan University

The Financial Assistance and Registrar’s Office has combined into a new office—Enrollment and Financial Services. They are currently in temporary quarters awaiting a newly remodeled office expected to be ready in late May or early June.

Pittsburg State University

Patti Ballard is a new employee in the Student Financial Assistance Office at Pittsburg State.

Kansas State University

Brynn Berner-McFarlane joined the K-State financial aid staff as an assistant director on January 28th. Brynn is a K-State graduate with experience as the financial aid director at the American Institute of Commerce at Davenport, Iowa.

University of Kansas Medical Center

Kristi Nicol and Aggie Lant are two new employees in the Student Financial Aid Office at KU Medical Center. Also, Aggie will be getting married this month, so her new last name will be changing to Schamberger. Kristi is the Loan and Scholarship Coordinator while Aggie is a Student Financial Aid Advisor.

University of Kansas

Karen Cooper has returned to the Office of Student Financial Aid after working in the KU Law School for 15 months.
Amanda Peterson has joined the staff as a Financial Aid Counselor. Amanda worked in the Financial Aid Office at Fort Hays State University throughout her undergraduate studies.
Richard Rams has been promoted to Assistant Director. Rick has worked in the office since August 2000 as a Graduate Student and then as a Financial Aid Counselor.
Angela Jirak has rejoined the Financial Aid staff as a Financial Aid Counselor. Angela previously worked as a Peer Advisor and Verifier during the past 2 ˝ years and also has experience as a student employee in financial aid at Pittsburg State University

Sterling College

Rhonda McCubbin has resigned and moved with her husband and family to Oklahoma
Susan Sillin, Financial Aid Assistant, resigned effective April 1, 2002, to begin a new position with Leisure Hotel Corporation.
Jodi Lightner begins April 8, 2002, as Financial Aid Assistant.
Sterling College does have an opening for a Director of Student Financial Assistant. Resumes should be sent to Dr. Cal White, Vice President for Enrollment Services, Sterling College, Box 98, Sterling,KS 67579 .

Butler County Community College

Butler County Community College has a new employee in the financial aid office. Beverly Phillips is the Financial Aid/Advising Receptionist at the Andover site.

Fort Hays State University

Fort Hays State University has a new person in their office. Her name is Vicki Johansen and she is the new Financial Assistance Counselor. Vicki has worked for a number of years as a part-time temporary employee in their office while her two daughters were growing up.

Wichita State University

Penny James, Associate Director, has resigned her position, effective April 30th, to become the Director of Financial Aid at Western Nebraska Community College, in Scotts Bluff.
Jason DeLosSantos, Loan Counselor, has been accepted into the KU School of Law and will be leaving his position on May 17th to begin his quest to become a lawyer.
The WSU staff wish Penny and Jason the best of luck in their new ventures and thank them for all the time and effort they gave to WSU and KASFAA!
