I realize that FEBRUARY 16, 2003 seems a long way off for most of you, but for those of us on the College Goal Sunday Committee FEBRUARY 16, 2003 seems just around the corner. We've secured the funding for College Goal Sunday 2003 and we've begun the task of selecting our site locations as well as begun preliminary promotional work.

Even though its still fairly early in the planning year for College Goal Sunday we've had a few small bumps already. I was sad to find out that our co-chair, Connie Corcoran, had to withdraw as co-chair due to additional job responsibilities that she will be tackling next year. Connie has been an invaluable part of College Goal Sunday and she has promised to continue volunteering as much time as possible to help with our event. On a happier note, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce our new co-chair. Barbara Stapleton, Commerce Bank & Trust, has graciously volunteered to be our new co-chair. Thanks Barbara! I know Barbara will be an invaluable addition to our team as we move forward.

As all of you are aware, the success of an event like College Goal Sunday relies on wonderful volunteers like yourselves. Now if you didn't sign up to be on the College Goal Sunday Committee don't stress, you can still be a huge and significant part of the team by volunteering a little bit of your time on FEBRUARY 16, 2003 from 1:30 to 4:30. We are looking for all the help we can get, specifically anyone who has working knowledge of the FAFSA. For your time you will be given a free long sleeved denim shirt with the College Goal Sunday logo and the good feeling you'll get after helping those in need is worth a million bucks! Volunteer forms will be available on the KASFAA web site. Looking forward to another successful year!
