From the President: Annita Huff
Can you believe we are starting another new calendar year? My wish for you this year is that all your students apply on time and the Pell Grant is increased by at least $500!
I know that many of you have completed spring enrollment on your campus. I'm always amazed at how we forget the rigors of an enrollment process. It reminds me of a thunderstorm that comes and goes quickly.
The KASFAA Board of Directors will be meeting in February to conduct their winter board meeting and to select four KASFAA recipients for the Summer Institute scholarships. I am enjoying the enthusiastic group of board members and wonderful committees who are working hard to promote the goals of KASFAA.
College Goal Sunday will be held on February 16th with additional sites in Kansas. KASFAA continues our mission of promoting access and choice and directly assisting families complete the process of applying for federal financial aid. If you have not volunteered yet, please do so by completing the volunteer form on our website. Michelle Pursel and her committee will be ever so grateful for your assistance.
Additionally, don't forget to thank our hard working individuals in KASFAA by nominating one of them for our annual awards to be presented at the spring conference in Topeka on April 2-4. Julie Esau and her committee will be presenting nominees for "Outstanding Service", "Meritorious Achievement", and "KASFAA Hall of Fame". Please take the time to nominate worthy individuals whom you feel deserve this recognition from their peers!
Finally, Chris Johnson and his committee are busy getting ready for another fantastic KASFAA Spring Conference at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel, April 2-4. "SPRING BREAK AT THE KASFAA CABANA!" is the theme for the conference. Please make plans to attend. We will be installing our new KASFAA officers. RMASFAA decentralized training will be presented on Federal Work-Study and Consortium Agreements. The learning is priceless and the fun is boundless! What more could you ask for? See you in Topeka!
