For ten years the U.S. Department of Education in Kansas City, MO (Region VII) has been located on the far north side of Kansas City near the Kansas City International Airport. During the last seven years we have occupied two different buildings separated by about a mile, one at 10220 N. Executive Hills Boulevard and the other at 7505 Tiffany Springs Parkway. The latter address is where many of you have come to attend our training in the regional training facility/computer lab.

On October 21 this changed when all Region VII Education employees reported for duty at a newly renovated federal building located at 8930 Ward Parkway. Our new location is on the Missouri/Kansas state line in south Kansas City, just south of the Ward Parkway Shopping Mall. Note that we will provide you with a new phone number listing in the near future. Additionally, our old phone numbers should have voice mail messages directing you to the new numbers.

In December our training schedule will begin in full force at the Ward Parkway location. There will be numerous exciting training opportunities for you this year, including: Delivery System/Back to Basics, Cash Management, Non-traditional programs, Application Processing EDExpress, Pell EDExpress, and Direct Loan EDExpress.

Finally, we would like to thank you for what you do every day. Your dedication to education is commendable and, though you don't hear it enough, it means the world and the future to many Americans. Even though we will have new addresses and phone numbers we want to affirm our continued commitment to providing the quality customer service and training that you have come to rely on.
