NCO Financial Systems

On June 21, Ann Anderson was promoted to West Region Head for Sallie Mae Higher Education Sales. Congratulations, Ann!
US Bank
Mark Putman and his wife, Susan, welcomed their first child, Corbin Putman. At birth, Corbin weighed 8 lbs 3 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. He is a very cute baby (he looks like his mom) and pictures of his happy family can be seen at http://members.telocity.com/~mputman007/.
Newman University
Newman University reports that Kelli Hartman has become the Director of Financial Aid, replacing Marla McClure, who has become the Dean of Admissions. In addition, Newman has two new counselors. Melissa Meares is the new financial aid/admissions processing counselor and Lesley O'Dell is the new financial aid counselor. Lesley just graduated from Wichita State this May and was married on June 30th. Melissa just graduated from K-State and became engaged in May and is planning a wedding for next February. Former financial aid counselor, Todd Martin, has moved on and is the new Financial Aid Director at Mid-America Bible College in Oklahoma City. April Davis, financial aid counselor, gave birth to a daughter, Lillianne Claire, on June 23. Both are doing great.
Butler County Community College
Heather Ward has been hired full-time for verification and record completion. Tiffani Smith is now working full-time doing loan processing and the front desk. BCCC just hired Cari Dull at its Andover branch.
Wichita State University
Kevin Crabtree, joined our staff in January 2001, to fill the newly
created position of Information Technology Coordinator. Celia Easley
joined our staff in March 2001, to fill the newly created position of
Scholarship Counselor.
Sheelu Surender, formerly Loan Counselor, was promoted to the position
of Assistant Director for Scholarships in February 2001. Suzanne
Hamilton-Mies is our new Scholarship Assistant. Angie McNew is our new
Administrative Assistant and Abbey Coburn is our new Office Assistant.
Chi Lam, Financial Aid Counselor, joined our staff in January 2001.
Chi is also the certifying official for Veterans Services. Jason De
Los Santos, joined our staff in June 2001 to fill the Loan Counselor
position.
Goodbye to Julie Greco, Assistant Director for Customer Service and
Training, who will be leaving July 5th to assume an internship in the
Sports Administration Office at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA; this
position will allow her to finish her master's degree in the Sports
Administration program at WSU. We will miss Julie and wish her well in
her future endeavors!
Lisa Wuggazer has also left WSU.
Southwestern College
We have a couple of promotions to report in our office. Dena Allison has been promoted from Financial Aid Counselor to Assistant Director of Financial Aid and Juletta Gall from Financial Aid Assistant to Financial Aid Clerk.
Northeast Kansas Technical College
Northeast Kansas Technical College has a new president. Her name is Shirley Antes. She began her duties on July, 9.
Wichita Area Technical College
Willow Dean has been promoted to the position of Assistant Financial
Aid Officer at Wichita Area Technical College and has been instrumental
in the implementation of our new Financial Aid Management System,
PowerFaids for the 2001-02 award year.
Welcome to Belinda Bastow, celebrating 3 months with WATC, started in
Financial Aid after working for H& R Block as one of the top
preparers in the area. Her specialized training in tax information is
a big plus!
Also, welcoming Paula Lamprecht, celebrating 2 months with WATC, as the
Financial Aid Receptionist. Paula has an extensive background in
training and customer service which will be so helpful to both our
college and the KASFAA organization.
Margaret Shady, after 13 years of service to students and their
families, has taken another position within WATC. Her helpful, caring
attitude will be missed, but still well used in her new role at the
WATC—Schweiter Campus.
Michelle Carson, while remaining as the Financial Aid Officer, has
added responsibilities and been promoted to Supervisor of Enrollment
Services which includes the Offices of Financial Aid,
Registrar/Enrollment, Admissions, and Student Records.
Wichita Area Technical College administration also moved into remodeled
offices at our same location--301 S Grove, installed a new phone system
and a wonderful electronic network...Stop by the next time your in
Wichita and we'll show you our new digs!
Neosho County Community College
I wanted to send you a quick note addressing the changes in our Office.
I will be leaving my position July 31st. My husband has accepted
another position which requires us to relocate. We will be moving to
the Emporia area. My immediate plans are to be a Mom. I have two
boys. One which is 3 years old (Derek) and one which just turned 2.
(Brian) They are looking forward to living close to Grandpa and having
Mom home!
We also have a new Financial Aid Counselor, Dean Colston. He will
assist students at our Ottawa site.
*I will truly miss working with all of you!

Wichita Technical Institute has a new Director of Admissions, Gary Hively and a new Director of Administration, Barry Mannion.
Kansas City Kansas Area Technical School
Former Financial Aid Secretary (Denise Hayes), has been replaced by Linda Cavender and she began on April 9, 2001. Also, Chuck Bond, the Business Manager, retired this year and has been replaced by Cliff Smith. Chuck supervised the Financial Aid Office.
MidAmerica Nazarene University
Deb Ellis celebrated the marriage of her daughter, Angela, to Joshua Campbell on May 26.
Southwest Kansas Technical School
Stephanie Fisher, Financial Aid Clerk, is no longer with the school. She has left for bigger and better things. She is replaced by Robin Weibe. Robin is still a neophyte to the financial aid world.
McPherson College
Fred Schmidt has been named Dean of Enrollment Management and Quality Assurance and will also continue his responsibilities for the Admissions and Financial Aid offices. He will now be giving additional attention to retention and quality on campus. Fred intends to remain active in our financial aid associations as long as they will have him (of course!).
Garden City Community College
The financial aid community is sad to lose Deanna Mann, Financial Aid Director. She won't be leaving GCCC, but will be taking on a new job as the Institutional/Research/Student Tracking Specialist. Sounds fun, doesn't it? She will be greatly missed.
Pittsburg State University
Marilyn Haverly has taken on the responsibilities of Director of Student Financial Assistance. Julie Blankenship is PSU's new Loan Counselor and comes to the school from Missouri Southern State College. PSU is also proud to announce that one of its graduate student employees, Joetta Wigger, has joined the staff at Southwestern College in Winfield as a financial planner.
Barton County Community College
Toni Bryant, who has been at the school since February is the new Student Loan Specialist. Sherri Henry is the Scholarship Specialist and she has been with the school for about a year.
Topeka Technical College
Due to the announcement of its closure, the school is planning a fifteen-month teach-out for completion of its currently-enrolled programs. The school has ceased enrolling for any new programs since the school is currently up for sale, with its primary plan to offer completion of programs for all students.
